The Price You Pay

I open myself to you
And poured all the contents out
But it wasn’t enough
you wasted more

I bared my soul
yet kept part of my heart on reserve
not hidden just held back
you wanted more

I spoke to you and told you things
I never told another
But it wasn’t enough
Your ears were not satisfied
You wanted more

I touched you and let you touch me back
In ways no other had
But it wasn’t enough
When we became entangled once more
You wanted more
I loved you with most of my heart
But it wasn’t enough
You wanted what was held back from you
For no good reason
You wanted more
You wanted more
You deserved more

All or nothing
Is how you play
Us never being us again
It is the price you pay
